The Ram Chalisa or Sri Ram Chalisa is a long, devotional hymn to worship Lord Rama. It was composed between the 16th-17th century A.D. by Tulsidas, a Hindu saint and poet who was renowned for his deep devotion to Rama. The hymn praises the various attributes and virtues of Lord Rama, such as his courage, wisdom, compassion, and devotion.
Furthermore, it narrates some of the most significant events and stories of Lord Rama’s life, such as his birth, his victory over the ten-headed demon Ravana, and his return to Ayodhya, where he was crowned king.
The Ram Chalisa is chanted during religious ceremonies, festivals such as Ram Navami, and of course daily worship. Reciting the hymn is a powerful spiritual practice that can help the devotee develop a deeper connection with the divine and attain spiritual liberation.
